Bitaxe Gamma 601 setup
The BM1370 chip, or rather the Btiaxe Gamma 601 Setup and introduction. Everything you need to know to get started…
Well, to be honest, I missed the opportunity to create a post about the miner. Now I have another “Gamma 601” on my desk – a good opportunity to submit the video.
In general, I recommend purchasing the original Bitaxe miner. The cheaper Lucky Miner version usually comes with limitations – whether in terms of firmware, functionality, or quality.
About the miner
The Bitaxe Gamma 601 is a compact, energy-efficient solo Bitcoin and/or pool miner based on the BM1370 chip. It is ideal for technology enthusiasts, educational purposes, and as an extension of your own Bitcoin projects. It is not profitable under realistic conditions, but it is highly enjoyable and educational.

Conclusion
You could say that it is a faster BM1366 / BM1366 – the Bitaxe 601 / BM1370 is three times as fast, after all. I think this is an important point to consider when purchasing or replacing a device.
Many also say that buying coins is more efficient than mining. However, mining is a fundamental attitude toward the issue – to the point of believing that mining is an essential part of the system. Without mining, there is no confirmation of the blocks in the blockchain. And without blocks, there are no transactions – which would definitely be problematic.
Coins that are mined yourself are usually anonymous, while coins that are purchased (usually via an exchange) are not anonymous. The owner of the wallet is known to the exchange.

Questions and answers
Why?
Many people engage in Bitcoin mining even though it is not directly profitable. There are many reasons for this: For many, it is an exciting learning project that allows them to gain a practical understanding of the technology behind blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Others see it as a hobby—an open-source DIY project that allows them to experiment with hardware, software, and networks. Idealistic reasons also play a role: Through mining, users actively support the decentralization and security of the Bitcoin network.
Solo mining?
Some hope to strike it rich with solo mining – the so-called “Bitcoin lottery.” And those who have access to cheap or surplus electricity, e.g., from solar energy, can also mine in an energy-efficient manner. For many, the focus is not on short-term profit, but on curiosity, fun, ideals, and the joy of participating.
My opinion
I mine both for the coins and for the network, and I do my part. Cryptocurrencies are still in their infancy, just like PCs, the internet, and IT were once. Back then, people thought I was crazy for getting involved with them. Well, it’s no different today with Bitcoin and altcoins. But I’m sure I’ll be on the winning side again. 😊
At certain intervals, a major change always occurs that is already apparent in advance. Now you can still jump on the bandwagon – but where the journey will take us is not yet certain. I see three possibilities:
- The future of AI – humanity’s final invention. By that, I mean true intelligence, not a search engine 2.0 like the ones currently available.
- A new financial system with crypto-based digital currencies, but not CBDC.
- Space travel, colonies, and contact with other intelligences.
Well, as I said: “Big changes.” And if you want to “ride the wave,” you have to get in early – then success will be on your side.
With AI, the rest will take care of itself anyway……
long life and peace 🖖
