Logbook #001 Missing contributions

There are 2 posts missing. After a problem with the MySQL database, which required the restoration of a backup.

Nobody is immune to data loss – even if you’ve shot the buck yourself. And yes, I don’t do things by halves 😁😂

In the video recording for the SQL database migration, I exported the database – but without specifying the character set. This is another typical MySQL moment … With MySQL, you really have to think of everything yourself.

In any case, the exported database was without umlauts – that’s what happens if you don’t define the character set when exporting. And because it was “my day”, I also forgot to change the volume or mount point before the restore …

Well, I genius overwrote the production database with a faulty version in which all the umlauts had disappeared.

Fortunately, my system automatically creates regular backups – so I restored the last backup and the umlauts are back. 🎉

The two posts are no longer available. Let’s look at it sportingly – as minor collateral damage.

I won’t be reposting the articles either, as there is now enough other content available – even if it is not always entirely correct in terms of content.

However, I have to recreate the post “Moving the MySQL database” – and it was a bit longer. I’ll submit it as soon as it’s finished.
