Strange things are currently happening in the banking world – and the crypto exchange Binance is already in the middle of it. Even simple transfers between accounts are now being restricted or sanctioned in some cases.

In this article, we take a look at three specific issues. Of course, you can also find more information and developments online – it’s worth digging a little deeper.

Transfer money to Thailand with WISE

As of May 6, 2025, many Thai banks will no longer be supported by WISE due to system changes.

This means that transfers to Thailand will still be possible in some cases, but you should check carefully whether your recipient bank is still included.

BANKS NO LONGER SUPPORTED AS OF MAY 6:

• TMBThanachart Bank (011)

• Citibank (017)

• Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (018)

• Standard Chartered Bank (020)

• United Overseas Bank (024)

• Government Savings Bank (030)

• HSBC (031)

• Deutsche Bank (032)

• Government Housing Bank (033)

• Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (034)

• Mizuho Corporate Bank (039)

• BNP Paribas (045)

• Bank of China (052)

• Thanachart Bank (065)

• Islamic Bank of Thailand (066)

• TISCO Bank (067)

• ICBC (070)

• Thai Credit Retail Bank (071)

• Land and Houses Retail Bank (073)

• Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank (080)

YOU CAN CONTINUE TO USE THESE BANKS:

• Bangkok Bank

• CIMB Thai Bank

• Bank of Ayudhya (Krungsri)

• Kiatnakin Phatra Bank

Well, I find it impressive that no information was released in advance regarding this issue. Well, Thai accounts are no longer supported – maybe that’s why there was no information from the banks on this issue. WISE did not inform me about the issue either, even though I use their services regularly.

As an IT specialist, I know that banks always have a test phase and also a test operation for new systems. If there are no German politicians on the board of WISE or the Thai banks, I can’t imagine that nobody knew about the incompatible system changeover in advance.

In my opinion, there was a deliberate lack of information. Some customers can no longer simply transfer their money.

I have already had a few problems with the euro in this regard since I no longer live in the eurozone. Here, too, I was denied access to the euro!

Sanctioned transfer to own accounts – amount: € 30.00

A transfer in the amount of € 30 was sanctioned!

Both accounts are managed under the same login account. It was therefore only a transfer from one account to the other own account. The following was entered as the posting text: “Transfer tip from Olga W*“.

That was the consequence:

(Data has been made unrecognizable!)

To 1. the booking text was meaningful enough.

Regarding point 2 😳 I can raise €30 on my own if necessary 😂

Re 3. proof of residence? I only moved two months ago – the bank was duly informed of this.

The sticking point – point 4: What does “Olga” refer to? A name that is very common in Russia or Ukraine – that’s exactly what they got hung up on!

If a human had checked the transfer, there would have been no sanctions or questions because it is simply logical. But long live AI (no intelligence), that’s what happens. Now add to that the idiotic guidelines and regulations from the EU, and the chaos is perfect.

The “all-crime approach”

Everyone should see where the journey is going. The so-called “all-crime approach” already applies – and it is being applied. This means that you no longer have to prove a crime – you have to prove your innocence! And unfortunately, that often depends on the mood of your opponent …

This is an extensive topic that I don’t want to go into in detail here. I’ll link you to a video that explains everything:

Binance P2P trading – restrictions

As of 07.05.2025, P2P trading and other services will be restricted at Binance. This also affects the Thai baht.

So let’s take a look at Binance and WISE as well as the Thai banks: Binance is an exchange – WISE and the Thai banks, on the other hand, are traditional banks.

☝️ Why is an almost simultaneous changeover underway here?

Interessant ist allerdings, dass Binance seine Kunden rechtzeitig und im Voraus über die Änderungen informiert – ganz im Gegensatz zu WISE oder den thailändischen Banken.

At the same time, Binance offers a smooth account opening at Binance.th with the existing Binance data. By linking the two accounts, you can then continue to trade with Binance.th in Thailand and make deposits and withdrawals without any problems.

Conclusion:

“The fish stinks from the head” – and the fish here already stinks so much that Peter in heaven must already be walking around with a glupp on his nose!
